Description
Lyrics:
In a good mood,
Got some good food,
It’s a day for gratitude.
What I got
is a lot,
Even more now than I thought.
Do me a favor.
Savor the flavor.
Being here is a lifesaver.
In the household,
Don’t need to be sold.
Friday’s black, but Thursday’s gold.
Thanksgiving, (doo doo doo, doo doo doo)
Happy Thanksgiving. (doo doo doo doo)
It’s Thanksgiving, (How are ya? How are ya?)
Happy Thanksgiving. (It’s good to see ya today.)
The ground is good beneath my feet,
Grateful for the food we eat.
on Thanksgiving, (doo doo doo, doo doo doo)
Happy Thanksgiving. (doo doo doo doo)
Today is Thanksgiving, (How are ya, how are ya?)
Happy Thanksgiving. (Just wanted to say hey.)
Hey!
It’s not over.
Just roll over.
We still got all the leftovers.
Gettin’ blurry.
No need to worry.
Do I see a snowflake flurry?
Cheers, I say
To today, to
tomorrow and to yesterday.
We’ll set it straight.
Fill up a plate.
It’s Thanksgiving, Christmas can wait!
Thanksgiving, (doo doo doo, doo doo doo)
Happy Thanksgiving. (doo doo doo doo)
It’s Thanksgiving, (Come over, come over.)
Happy Thanksgiving. (Ooh, put all your troubles away.)
Many plenty wealthy and healthy returns.
Inside my house a fire burns.
for Thanksgiving, (doo doo doo, doo doo doo)
Happy Thanksgiving. (doo doo doo doo)
Today is Thanksgiving, (Come over, come over.)
Happy Thanksgiving. (Just kick up your feet and stay)
Thanksgiving,
Happy Thanksgiving.
(background chit chat)
It’s Thanksgiving,
Happy Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving. How are ya? It’s been so long since we’ve seen each other. Grab a plate, darling, and let’s catch up!
Thanksgiving (in the U.S) is a time for family, food, and gratitude. There are no costumes and no gifts. It’s just a day to spend with loved ones, remembering all there is to be thankful for. With that in mind, I wanted to write a warm and welcoming Thanksgiving song stuffed with happy, silly vibes. Think of this song as an invitation to an old friend’s house for the holiday. Open your arms and open your heart. It’s Thanksgiving! Friday may be black, but Thursday’s gold.
Early 90’s R&B was on my mind with this one. I really wanted the vocals to be smooth-as-pumpkin-pie. Unfortunately, I was sick during the recording schedule, and my voice got raspy. So, I ended up with chunky pecan pie instead. Oh well. Pie is still pie. Turn on the radio. This song should be on it.
